About Us

Hydrangea House Candle Company is a small business, with candles poured in small batches of 2-10 candles at a time, in my kitchen in the small town of Millbury, MA.   I've been an elementary school psychologist for over 20 years.  As my 3 children are now teenagers, I now have the opportunity to delve into something I truly love and enjoy doing, creating custom candle and home fragrance scents.   

I've been burning candles for as long as I can remember, always burning one when I am home.  In recent years, I started to notice that many of them either cause my family to have headaches, produce a lot of soot or have harmful chemicals like parabens, paraffin or phthalates in the fragrance oils.  As part of my personal journey to slowly switch out things in our home for cleaner, safer alternatives, I started to research the art of clean soy wax candle making.   After taking a class, doing lots of research, testing and creating many of my own candles, this little candle company was born.  The feedback I got from family and friends who first tested my candles was overwhelming and I was filled with joy and pride when a few people even called my candles "the best candle they have ever burned!"  Whether or not that is actually true, I am proud of the candles I create and they are truly a labor of love.  I love creating unique fragrances and scent blends that will fill your home and space with warmth, joy and a sense of calm.  

I've always loved hydrangeas, and they are planted all around my yard.  I even have several faux hydrangeas inside my home so I can enjoy them year round.  Hydrangeas and their beauty, fragrance and range of colors are what inspired this candle and fragrance brand.  A few facts about our candles: 

Made with Soy Wax and Coconut Soy Wax:

All of our products are hand crafted with paraffin-free soy or coconut wax made from domestically grown soybeans.

Paraben Free

Sulfate free, paraben free, dye free, Prop 65 compliant and cruelty free.  We take product safety seriously and use ingredients that contain no acute toxins.   Even our room/linen mist is skin safe. 

Premium Fragrances

Classic, nostalgic and inspiring scents that take us to a favorite place or song, that relaxes and creates a warm, cozy and comforting environment.  Our fragrances and ingredients are all made in the USA.  

100% Cotton Wicks

Made to ensure a clean, even burn for up to 50 hours per candle.  Our wax melts last for many weeks and a bottle of room/linen/body spray lasts almost a year.
